My research focuses on the narratives of sex workers and other marginalised communities in India, particularly how they represent themselves in literature and media. I am interested in questions of voice, dignity, and self-representation, and in how storytelling becomes a form of resistance. More broadly, I study contemporary Indian media, including film and advertising, as cultural texts that shape and reflect social attitudes around gender, class, and sexuality. I am also interested in how readers and audiences respond to these narratives, and what those responses reveal about our social realities.
My creative interests lie in capturing the beauty of life’s mundane, everyday moments, and I express these narratives in both Hindi and English. Alongside personal projects, I have collaborated with individuals and organizations to bring their stories to life. In addition to writing fiction and nonfiction, I professionally offer my expertise as a reviewer, offer my expertise as a reviewer,
translator, and editor.
I have worked as an educator in different capacities for over a decade and currently serve as an Assistant Professor of English at Manav Rachna University. In informal settings, I offered tuitions to Humanities students. I have collaborated with organizations such as Tara Foundation in Bihar and India Vision Foundation in Haryana to teach and conduct workshops for underprivileged and marginalised children. I also conducted writing workshops with students of Vivekananda College, University of Delhi. Later, I taught Creative Writing to sixth semester BA LLB and BBA LLB students at Symbiosis Law School, Noida.
I’ve always loved jumping into any creative opportunity that came my way, whether it was recording podcasts, designing brand campaigns, helping out on film sets, or just exploring something new. Here’s a little glimpse into that journey.
